Bringing the design to life.
As every renovation progresses, there comes a point where concepts, mood boards and product selections need to be tested within the home itself. For Deborah Hutton's renovation, that was the focus of our latest on-site visit.
Deborah and Alfresco Emporium Interior Stylist Peta Howe spent the day walking through the build, reviewing layouts, refining furniture placement and making the design decisions that will shape the finished home.
While the house is still under construction, seeing each room at full scale allows us to confirm proportions, assess natural light and ensure every selection works within the space..
Designing Beyond the Mood Board
Site visits are an important part of the design process, allowing us to review layouts, confirm dimensions and make sure every room functions as beautifully as it looks.
Walking through the home together gave Deborah and Peta the opportunity to fine-tune furniture placement, circulation and the overall flow before installation begins.
Refining Materials & Finishes
Natural light can completely change the way colours, textures and materials are experienced.
Paint colours, timber finishes, furniture materials and fabric swatches were reviewed throughout the home, allowing every selection to be considered in the environment where it will ultimately live.
Seeing everything together on site helps refine the final palette and ensures every finish works cohesively.
Considering Every Detail
Great interiors come down to thoughtful planning.
From lighting placement and furniture footprints to custom joinery and styling details, every decision was reviewed to ensure the home feels balanced, functional and beautifully resolved.
It's these details that bring the overall vision together.
A Home Beginning to Take Shape
With the build progressing and the key design decisions now confirmed, Deborah's home is beginning to reflect the vision developed from the very beginning of the project.
Each site visit brings another layer of refinement, ensuring everything is ready for the next stage.
What's Next
With the layouts and finishes now locked in, the focus shifts to bringing the design together.
Over the coming weeks we'll be finalising custom pieces, sourcing the remaining furniture and décor, and preparing everything for installation once the build is complete.
